Aia and Michelle and the little girl Abby
From Telkoth.net
I got to play Aia La Fillole last night - it was quite a little story, but Aia kept her head together, and we got through things alright.
Initially I was going to retell the whole story, but I'm too lazy. Anyway, Michelle (Laura) and I were to escort a little girl Abby (Katie), and a letter, to a friend's house. Suffice to say we avoided a lot of trouble through subtlety and luck, and Aia got to do some fun effects.
Like once these hermetics who were trailing us totally posessed this house wife at the place we were trying to hide out in... she was making us biscuits while the hermetics were trying to be conversationally pushy and "do what I say"... that particular table we were sitting at was being turned into the focus for three mages... Aia's - for a posession-dispelling effect when the woman would return and put down the biscuits - and the two hermetics - presumably for unleashing forces and things. My effect got off first, and what turned out to be a technocratic house was used to our advantage when the house wife secured the hermetics with some classic "chairs that trap people and then fall down into the basement where things are bad" traps. These particular technocrats turned out to be friends of the Abby's mom, but Michelle and I were happy to be able to finally leave, seperate of the meddling hermetics.
I also got to use my staff. When we were first driving to that house I noticed that the hermetics were tracking our movement. I'd been driving down the british roads, since I'm better at it, but I needed to stop them from tracking us, so Michelle took over while I attached string to the roof of the car in hanging loops, and then used those to saddle my staff. With the staff running through the middle of the car, I grabbed a hold of the staff - the dangling rings tensing at equal distances and sparking with electricty - and leaked prime into the area to solidify reality.
I also had a cool spyglass which I used a lot... to look through walls, or forces illusions, or what have you.
Anyway, good times, good times.
Oh yeah! And when we got back, Abby's dad was very pleased to see her safe. The technocratic friend had administered some kind of cure for an illness Abby was suffering - the severity of which Abby had not even been aware of - and to have her back safely was very reassuring for him. He even, after settling a duel which resulted in a new golden statue of a screaming man for decorating the house up with, offered to return the favor. He apparently owns a mine (or two?) and has allowed me, upon my request, to take away a few uncut gems. Aia is certainly aware of Ether's attraction to human expression, but she's also curious to see how different materials affect that, so having several kinds of gems to work with would be helpful. I'll probably try to arrange a field trip to take along some other people if possible... but we don't want to take too many precious minerals, so we'll see.
Michelle ended up with something, I don't remember... something about warding vampires with architecture? Could be an interesting project... the intent behind architecture. It certainly should work, but isn't something Aia's dealt with specifically.
So there's all that! Hopefully I'll get to play Aia more... although the current campaign has us deep within the Hollow Earth, where I play a Euthanatos... so we'll see when I next have the opportunity :)
