My current employer. Articles in this category include gripes, praise, and whatever else I think Barnes and Noble deserves.

[edit] Co-workers

I'm sure I'm missing many of them - I've only bothered to list those I regularly interact with. People who are crossed out no longer work there.

[edit] Receiving

  • Robert. Has gigantic holes in his ears, and a forked tongue. Plays DDR. All around cool guy.
  • Gary, an older guy, enjoys pottery, and singing :P
  • Ellis, an older woman, enjoys music I associate with black and white TV.
  • Kurt, receiving manager. I think he's under the impression that I'm very... delicate? He quite clearly stops talking about some "controversial" things when he thinks I've just come into ear-shot.

[edit] Shelving

  • Karen, older woman, gives independent music lessons. Ex-hippie, I think.
  • Perry. My age. Used to work at a comic shop where I now spend more money than I should. An amusing fellow.
  • Brigette. I can't remember how to spell her name. About my age. Fixed her computer.
  • Me.

[edit] Managers

  • Roy, crazy, jewish. Crazy in a good way - he's a fun guy.
  • Denise. If we're standing around outside waiting for a manager to unlock the building, it's probably Denise who's opening that day.
  • Jermaine, pretty much our token "amusing black guy." One of the more enjoyable managers.
  • Jamie. I don't see her much, but I like it that way.

[edit] Others

  • Adam, ex-shelver. My age, cool guy, mostly-cool taste in music, slightly worse taste in books.
  • Jenny. I think a couple years older than I am. Has two cats, talks a lot if you get her started, shares her cheese-its.
  • Della, older woman, must have read every damn book. Seriously, she can recommend everything. Amazing and terrifying.
  • Lanette. Older woman, a bit of a conspiracy theorist, very opinionated, interesting to listen to.
  • Angel, male, about my age. Has two kids! Calls customers to let them know when their book is in, but more importantly is a big gaming and anime dork. Knows enough about computers to think he knows everything about computers.

[edit] Cafe

I have little desire to work food services. Sure, people need food, but working it is terrible, exasperated by how completely important the cafe manager thinks it, and everything about it, is. Cute girls work there, though.

  • Olin, a guy working cafe! Is learning Japanese, I suspect for the purpose of watching anime. Is surprisingly older than I am.
  • Need to peek at her name tag some time... Has curly hair, and is overall a cute girl.

[edit] Scripts

Humor that I witness at work, in script format.
