PsyPets is the amazingly-cool web game created by yours truly. It was my (his?) first PHP/MySQL project, and has managed to survive for many years now.

• It's a simulation of human behavior as described by Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Whether you think it's a good model or not, it's made for a good game :)
• Pets perform hourly actions, including gathering food and resources, hunting prey, defeating monsters, creating paintings, sewing clothes, forging weapons, and inventing ray guns. Seeeeecret statistics, which you help improve, determine how well your pet does at these tasks.
• There are of course things for the players to do, as well, including preparing food, collecting badges, and participating in bizarre holiday events. Most popular, however, are the forums, uniquely tailored for PsyPets to tie into pet activities and the economy.
• It has a player-based economy, but some people don't like that, so maybe it should not be bragged about here.
