More of the hollow earth campaign!
From Telkoth.net
A lot of stuff happened... well, Paul - my character - made extensive use of his strange Eye of Ra thing, and I was able to learn a lot, but it also got me in trouble. More on that later :P
We also have had a monk of Agartha join our party. Since our party (and notably Maxwell Harvey and his Prime 5) seem predisposed to blowing the crap out of everything, the monks have seen fit to send along someone to... keep an eye on us. The monk, Alabash, will also help us out when need be.
After the battle last week, wherein we noticed Nephandi influence behind the Naga, we decided the best course of action would be to eliminate the Nephandi. I was able to determine where they were through the use of my Ra's Eye, however during that check it was clear that the Naga, in some form, had noticed me. I was not aware that something like this was possible, but the eye is a very strange thing. I relayed the information to the rest of the party, and made sure to point out that the Naga and Nephandi may be aware that we're spying on them.
In any case, going to the Naga city was not an option. The catalyst for this episode's adventure, therefore, was an attempt to lure the Nephandi out of their city, however we also knew from our last battle that the Nephandi had at least Correspondence 4. How can you lure a person to come somewhere if they can simply ignore distance, and work from the comfort and safety of their city and lab? We devised, therefore, to make a mock doomsday device. The Nephandi and Naga should have no knowledge that we promised the Agarthan monks that we wouldn't blow things up anymore, so if we pretended to build a massive weapon, and then used our own Correspondence mage to seal off the area from working at a distance, and furthermore, using a combination of Prime and Mind, filled the area with a sense of urgency, danger, and "only a powerful mage can stop this from destroying everything you care about"... the Nephandi would have to come.
I forgot to mention that the Agarthan monks from last week were still hanging around a little. After dropping off Abalash and being assured, within the safety of our Hermetic-sealed "doomsday creation device" location, that the doomsday device was all a plot and ploy and wouldn't destroy anything, the Agarthan monks departed. Except that they didn't. On their way out they discovered that we were surrounded by the Naga. Not a large force, but still. They came back to report, and not much later we saw an obviously out-of-place man approaching our location. With the help of the monks - masters of the mind - he was easily rendered unconscious.
After probing around the guy's mind for a while, we confirmed that he was Nephandi, and expected to die very soon, and not necessarily by us... apparently an attack was imminent. Once again, my Eye came in handy. I looked into the nature of the attack, however whatever it was that noticed me looking around last time noticed me again... and this time, after realizing that a large, earthen snake would consume our project, and the rest of the surrounding valley, a large Naga approached me... I was routed into a cloud-like scenery, and the Naga confronted me... obviously my superior in battle, I was not sure what to do... furthermore, a headache was affecting me... but then I realized: the headache was my Eye, still flooding my head with information, almost taking over my body, and somewhere within that information was knowledge on how to fight this creature... filtering out everything but that, I engaged the Naga...
It was an epic battle... I knew its hits before they came, and was able to easily dodge... I disabled one of its arms with a strike to the armpit, but then a bit later it sliced one of my arms. A couple more hits damaged it badly, and it retreated much faster than I could follow. And then I found myself down on earth again, a glowing mark where my arm had been cut, but otherwise I was fine.
And then madness! Our Hermetic, having already sealed the location off from scrying, plucked us away from space entirely. Imagine cutting a circle out of the middle of a sheet of paper, and then stretching the edges of the hole back together; the circle itself placed aside. When the snake attacked, we were no longer there, but then, we weren't anywhere. And while that's OK when you have a fellow along who can control it, when he suddenly goes missing you have a problem.
A lot of attempts to resolve the issue have occurred, but to get to the point, we've all convened, but with one of our party missing: a Professor Porter, lost somewhere in all the infinite space of space. We have no clues as to where to start our search... we have only one of the Nephandi... we have escaped the Naga for now, but they obviously have the will, and the way, to pursue us viciously. They've already stolen Harvey's "destroys everything" Prime 5 gun, which frightens me beyond reason... the situation is worsening. We shall see where next week takes us.
