Attractive female customer: Can I borrow your phonebook?

Me: Oh, sure. [finds] It's a little beat up, but here you go.

Attractive female customer: [starts flipping through phonebook] Unless you know where Things Remembered is? I think they have one at Fashion Square mall...

Me: [expecting book titles; having never heard of "Things Remembered"; knowing there's another bookstore at Fashion Square mall; having had only 5 hours of sleep; is distracted by customer's attractiveness?; anything that makes me sound less retarded] I don't know off the top of my head, but I can check. [types "things remembered" into the computer (and finds a book by that name!)] Doesn't look like we have any in the store, but I can order one for you.

Attractive female customer: [explains briefly that "Things Remembered" is a place where you can get things engraved on other things]

Me: [feeling retarded despite that long list of excuses] Oh... no, I don't know. Sorry.

Random customer behind the attractive customer: [randomly] I don't know, either.

Me: ... [returns to shelving books]
