Yay! Relatively friendly kitties!

From Telkoth.net

The cats (Jordan and Chelsea) have been getting along much better recently. Yesterday was the first time I'd ever seen them both: a, within such close proximity to each other other; b, not fighting. Since then it's just been getting better and better. It used to be that they would never enjoy being pet when aware of each other's presence, but today I got home and not only were the two cats sleeping under the same chair, they both stretched and eagerly accepted my pets when I laid down next to them - they crawled around and over me, and stuck noses in my ears and face, and purred and purred - I was very happy :)

They finally wanted to eat, and they surprisingly ate out of the same tiny food bowl. That's kind of been happening before, but I was always more nervous about it... but they just seem to use the food and water bowls, and even the litter boxes, interchangably. I dunno if we should consolidate down to one of everything, but the vet seemed surprised enough that two litter boxes was enough for two cats - he seemed to think that the best solution would be LitterBoxes = Cats + 1, so I dunno.

I also allowed Chelsea to explore the refrigerator today. She's been trying to nose in there ever since she first noticed that we humans tend to interact with it fairly regularly :) Today I pulled her out as I went in for the juice, and nearly again when I went to return the juice, but I thought "Fine! Get it out of your system - I'll even hold the damn door open for you." Jordan didn't seem nearly as interested, but Chelsea climbed around the juice, over the bread, and behind the milk (all kept on the bottom of the refrigerator). I was a little afraid she was gonna try to camp out behind the milk, but she crawled out, and I closed the door, only to find Jordan pawing at the door which leads under the sink. Since we also keep the cat food there, we've already removed all the cleaning chemicals we would already have there, since cats will inevitably dash in there as we get their food. So, whatever, Chelsea already got to check out the fridge, Jordan can explore beneath the sink. As it turned out, he was not very interested anyway, however Chelsea once again climbed over and around everything, and stood up along walls to smell as high as possible, and everything else.

Now that that's done with, they hopefully will not take too much interest in the future - especially that Chelsea! She just has to see everything.
